Welcome to TRES! We’re an independently owned Japanese-style sandwich shop located in Bellevue, Washington. At TRES, we focus on making amazing, fresh, and healthy sandwiches at affordable prices! We make a variety of sandwiches with fluffy delicate white bread, fresh from the oven! Our myriads of delicious sandwiches range from “Pork Cutlets” to “Strawberry Cheesecake”. Come visit us!

About our Founder

When chef Makoto Ogasawara came to the U.S. from Japan in the 2000s, he worked at a tour company for Japanese visitors. While he worked, he found that one crucial part of Japanese cuisine, with widespread popularity in Japan, was yet to be discovered in America: Japanese-style sandwiches. Ogasawara founded TRES Sandwich on November 1st, 2014, and has since managed the shop, serving their famous delicacies.

The History of TRES

  • June, 2014
    • Founded “Sandwich House TRES”
    • Named TRES, meaning “three” in Spanish, to reflect our triangle-shaped sandwiches and the fact that March 13 is Sandwich Day in Japan
  • November 1st, 2014
    • Opened “Sandwich House TRES” in Bellevue, WA
    • Developed over 30 types of Japanese sandwiches after much trial and error
  • 2015
    • Completely Switched to homemade bread for the sandwiches
  • July, 2024
    • Celebration of 10th anniversary. Renamed to “TRES Sandwich”
